COVID-19 Diary Day 8 & 9

Finding Beauty, Goodness, and Truth  (Day 8)

Beauty

Toshi – “Pretty is my snowman that I painted at school.”

Daddy – Watching Mommy and Pnut work together to get better organized with schoolwork. I was able to see Pnut trying so hard to control her temper.

Goodness (Kindness)

Toshi – “Good that it’s raining. It’s not so sunny and hot.”

MiniLu – Toshi found one of my (toy) phones that I lost long time ago.

LittleBit – Daddy helped me with my schoolwork when I got frustrated.

Peanut – Mommy helped me with scheduling my time to work on schoolwork.

Truth

Mommy – First day is rough. It will get better.

Mood

Day 8 – It was a pretty rough day. Actually, it was a terrible day. I overestimated how “easy” homeschooling was going to be for the older 2. It was their first day today, and it was hard. They each had multiple blowouts (thankfully at separate times). Peanut got “stuck” feeling overwhelmed and thinking she will never get it done. Every time we tried to give her advice or help her see the positive, she would argue back that it’s too hard and too much. By evening, I was able to help her come up with a “game plan” for the homeschool days, and she was able to calm down. Whew. What a day. Tomorrow has to be better!

Day 9 – Today was a much better (calmer) day, except for Peanut’s earring incident (her earring got stuck inside her earlobe – not joking). She handled it very well. All the kids did a great job with homeschooling. It’s funny, at the beginning I couldn’t see how we would handle being “stuck” at home for so long. After 9 days, I’ve seen and experienced how we discover something new every day. Life is still interesting. Our family bond is growing stronger by the day. I truly do see so much beauty, goodness, and truth…perhaps now more than ever.

Prayer

Abba Father, please continue to pour out Your grace. And THANK YOU. Today was a good day, filled with peace, joy, and hope. Amen.
